Getting stuck in park

I never got around to unplugging the solenoid, its been such a sporatic issue for me i tend to forget about it.

Yeah, for me it's EVERY TIME I put it in park, the only way to get it out again is the release button.

Of course, whereas before I took it into the shop, I had some loose wires that were causing the issue, now they're all pretty much out except for one. I just have a hard time seeing in there, and somewhere my good flashlight is in a moving box still. Bleh.

I'm a bit confused by what you said above. You're saying everything you put it in park you have to press the button to get out. thats perfectly normal...

Um, no, no it's not normal at all.

EVERY TIME I let the car go in park, I have to then use the shift OVERRIDE button to get it back out again, because I need to unplug the solenoid.

Basically, I can get the console to this part:

But then it's getting underneath there to unplug the proper item, and I couldn't see/or get underneath.

If anyone has any pointers/tips, I'd appreciate it.
