getting codes?

my car has no warning lights on the dash or nothing but wondering if it could still throw a code.
meaning should i not worry about getting it scanned since there is no warning light or is that false?thanks

The memory could hold an old code for some time or until it is cleared without showing a warning light on.

There are many codes that can be set without illuminating the light.
