My Dad's had the Monte since 2002, he was the second owner not sure how many miles were on it he sold it to me 2 years ago with 197k, but as far as servicing goes I am pretty sure it's all been done before I got it anyway (he used to be a mechanic but only wants to work on/look at things when it's convenient for him, which is like never.)

Since I've had it I've only had to replace the starter, fuel pump, heater hose connector, and soon water pump. I'm hoping and praying I can at least make it til my next paycheck to get a new filter and whatnot. I hope it's just being temperamental and having "car gremlins" like it usually does. I'm sayin this car does some weird ****and always has as long as I can remember!

I believe a trans shop will scan it for free.. So, If you have some extra time... Maybe stop at 1 and have them at least scan it.

Does it have to be an actual transmission shop or can O'Rilley's/Advanced do that also??

 

Well this notice sucks, I'm not a fan!! it is colder outside tho. Maybe it's just being like me and not liking cold. wishful thinking..

 

It has to be a trans shop beacuse they are manufacturer specific codes.

Sorry to hear about your Monte. I had that same Year and Color, That's what promoted me to get my 02 SS. You've got some good advice from some of the Top members, hope it helps you out and your fix will not be costly!
