Gathering ideas for an LS motor build with a supercharger
Good day fellow Monte Carlo owners!
I am in the info gathering stage for the next motor build for my 1979 Monte Carlo. The plan now is to add an LS (maybe an LS3 to be specific) motor. Then to supercharge it to at or above 600 HP at the flywheel (and maybe still squeek 20MPG on the highway). I had primarily been looking at Kenne Bell superchargers, but am also aware of Whipple and LS9 Supercharger Kit from GM's Performance division. As I'm just getting started looking, has anybody done one of these swaps in a G-Body?
Where should I be looking for info/guidance?
Who has experience with any of these superchargers?
What kind of headaches will I encounter installing an LS motor?
Thanks,
Russ

Budsjlm,
Here are some details about the car.
1979 Monte Carlo. Current motor: 383 Carbureted small block. Transmission: beefed up 700R4. Rear end: Ford 9in with disc brakes. complete Hotchkiss suspension system. What other details would be of assistance? I'm happy to provide any helpful info!
I'm pretty comfortable working on cars. Not a professional mechanic, but with the available LS swap forums and friends who are professional mechanics, I'm 90% sure I can do it.
Wiring is no problem. I'm betting Painless wiring or www.brphotrods.com have what I need. By planning ahead, I'm hoping to learn from other people's experiences and avoid costly mistakes.
Thanks,
Russ
