Default Finally completed motor on this 84', Looks nice, XE262

I have been working on this car off and on for over a year. It's a $10,000 305 . There is over $10k under the hood. It doesn't take long to rack up the $$$. This guy really wanted to keep the original motor. I begged him to go 350, but he wanted looks with a little power.
It's a very stout 305ci +.030 so it's almost a 310ci. The XE262 performs and sounds nice. Please check out the video below. Thanks

nice motor i love when sombody builds a 305 !!
but 10,000 is a little bit steep ! i am guessing that he did not do it him self and that labor prices are included ?
he went a little bit overbored on some stuff that was not realy worth it. but i love it !!
so are you the guy that build the motor ??
what heads did you use ? what hp and tq numbers are you pushing ?

Thanks, I did it all. From a pile of grease down to the block and back up to a diamond. I built this,, I didn't pay for the parts. Yes there is 10k with out my labor. I have a walmart bag full of receipts from summit, jeg's and many other places. The eagle bottom was $700. ceramic hookers $370, the billet specialties brackets are $140 each anddual billet battery trays with optima batteries almost $500, Polished BeCool radiator was $850, yea the BeCool rad cap was $60. Polished flex fan $100, Polished master cylinder with booster $400, Endurashine carb and intake $800, all MSD $750, K&N. I could go all night. I am adding the machine work that the block\heads had to get , around $400. I did the porting before I took the heads, butthats not added to the parts list.
I estimate around 363hp\370tq at the flywheel. It pulls nice and with the 3:73 rear and his 20" tires. It puts up a fight against any mild 350. This thing is solid..
The owner has it right now. I will try to get better video soon.
Here is some pics.

I've posted this already, but I wanted to say it again,,,
This is a good site,, I'm on many many forums and everyone seems to be real cool here. There is a couple of chevy sites I'm a member of and the people there are just plan rude. I don't know everything by far. I ask a question and they respond with a smart aleck reply.
I mean when I try to help someone out I try to talk to them like a friend. Even if it is a silly question. My point,, thanks for the Help and the positive replies.

So I wanted to tell you that I love the XE262 for any 305 set-up. Even close to stock set-ups. I really like the XE or Voodoo 268 cams for a 350,, tho the XE has a choppier idle and the XE has a little valve clatter. I've a little better timeslpis with the XE tho,,not by much.
IMO the biggiest mistake guys make is "Bigger Is Better" NO,, not always. I see guys coming by with huge 280+ cams in a daily driver complaining about no low rpm power. Everything needs to match up. I love tourqe,, It will help your engine last longer and you'll fell it pull you back.
I'm working on an all roller chevy truck right now, but my next project is a 1987 Monte Carlo SS. The owner of the chrome motor owns this one as well. He has 4 Monte Carlo's. I can't wait,,,
