Default engine swap for newbe

hello im new to the mc forum, i got a 2005 monte carlo LS 3.4 lt. I'm wondering what year monte carlo SS engine V8 will fit in the 2005 LT engine bay if any?

pretty sure you need a 06+

better yet, just buy one with a v8

It's not going to be an easy swap. It would be easier swapping an L67 in it rather then the LS4. Plus, there's more potential to make power with the L67 too. The only years the LS4 was offered in the Monte's were 06 & 07, otherwise 06-09 Impalas and around the same years for Grand Prix GXP's and some Buick Lucernes and Lacrosses.

not to mention its a helluva lot cheaper.

a basic tuneup for the 3400 motor to make NA power is about a grand for some 3500 heads, etc.

for about 2 grand you can swap in the 3800 supercharged motor and make more power before you mod the 3800 motor.
