i was looking around and i was wondering if it would be possible to do an engine swap from the supercharged 2004 monte carlo and putting my 2002 monte carlo. and if i can do this would my transmission hold out or would i need to upgrade that as well? i can include pictures at a later time

 

its been done many times, the only difference between a regular trans (SD) to a supercharged trans (HD) is gear ratio and the HD trans has a tad better diff which the SD diff dont break so no big deal. your trans will bolt up to a 2004 monte 3800 sc engine just fine. you will need a tune and some of the engine wiring to make it work though.

 

For ease, I would recommend grabbing the Wiring Harness, Engine, and Trans from the donor vehicle.

This way you can just run a .bin from an 04/05 Monte Carlo SS without having to worry about your trans.
