Default engine pushed back

I want to purchase a 01 MC, but it was in a accident. The car got backed into. The hood, an frnt bumper are dented in the front middle. The frame is not bent but the hood will not lift. The car makes a sputtering noise. my cousin said its a exhaust mainfold leak. I wonder if there is a way to tell if the engine has been pushed back. An what else should i look for

accidents can be fixed. the engine i dont think can go back any further. it should be like an inch away from the rear of the engine compartment. you should have a mechanic look over the car just be certain that everything else is ok. good luck on your monte purchase if you continue to go through with it.

Only way the engine can be pushed back is if there is "frame" damage- either to the cradle or to the radiator support.

Only true way to tell is using the measurments they use on one of those body pulling racks- and measuring point to point to make sure all the measurements are still right.
