Coolant/Oil Issue...I need advise.
I have a 1998 Monte Carlo with the 3.1L engine.
I have read in several places that Dex-Cool coolant is not good and they have recommended not using it. The car was running low on coolant so I flushed my cooling system and added the green coolant. I have not seen any leaks underneath the car and the coolant lever does seem to go down, but only when the heater is on. It has only been a week or so and now my oil is turning milky. Could this have been caused by using green coolant or would this have been a problem which already existed before changing the coolant and I am only now noticing it?
Also, what it the coolant capacity for this car?

The new Dex-Cool is perfectly fine but the older version of it was nasty as hell. Changing coolant has nothing to do with it mixing with oil. You have a bad head gasket, stop driving it immediately before you do any further damage to your car!

Dexcool IS FINE, it was the gaskets that were the problem, and it sounds like it is your problem right now
Probably an intake manifold gasket or a headgasket is allowing coolant and oil to mix.

Thanks everyone for the info. It sounds like I've got a big time project on my hands. I may just play around with the broke down 1996 MC I have to see if this would be something I can fix. If not I know I will have a big repair bill headed my way...
