Default Casting # Engine ID help

Hey all I am fairly new to this forum but I could sure use some help.
Recently bought a 87 cutlass with a 350(not the orig motor) as a donor for my 87 Monte with a tired 3.8 V^
I pulled the 350/trans out last weekend and im totally stumped on the casting info
Casting # GM 3970010 next to that K 2
Front stamping pad: K04 4 C2N
partial VIN 171482253
Pass side Stamp upside down 7**C**22 A1
D^N
Got the obvious figured out I think lol but cant find a suffix code C2N anywhere and no idea what the uoside down stamping indicates.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Jeff

Passenger side stamp should denote when it was built IIRC. So, assuming I'm reading this right, the motor was cast March 22 of 77 at the McKinnon plant and installed in a passenger vehicle assembled in Atlanta. Again, I may be reading this wrong. I'd have to actually see the block to know for sure.

The C2N should be the engine suffix code. However I can't find a C2N code for a SBC. The closest I can find is C2M which is for a 1977 305. Do you have any pics of these codes that you can post up? That would be extremely helpful.

Ok you missed a 0 between the first 4 and the second 4. So April 4th is when the engine was built. Hard to tell what year because I can't find any information on a C2N suffix. The "clock" in the 2nd pic you have on photobucket is like what the Saginaw plant put on their blocks, but the rest of it does not add up. The casting number is fine for a small block, the date (as far as what day of the year) makes sense, but the clock vs the "K" at the beginning of the date does not add up, nor does the lack of a year or the C2N suffix. Hopefully someone here knows more than I do cause I don't know what to tell you.

I read a older post on a camaro site about 2-3 others with the same suffix code and no one there could figure it out, really hoping someone here can give me some input regardless of #s and whatnot I test drove the cutlass with this 350 before I pulled it and it is pushin some serious hp so it will make a great new heart for my 87 monte
Thanks SupplySgt
Ps heres the link to the post on the camaro site if anyones interested
