Yes it can. I got my tune done by member Dave (z34phoenix). Really happy with the tune. Raised rev limiter, governer removed, spark/fuel tables adjusted, trans pressure increased, ect. I found a spare PCM for sale on another forum and sent it down to Dave. It cost me 150 shipped for the tune. I paid 50 bucks for the PCM and shipping down.

did he have to program your VIN into the new puter, im realy good with computers and engine management just need to know the process and a possible source for the hardware or cables to plug my laptop into the ECM or do i just get a tuner like hp tuners or something like the J3 chip used on fords EEC-IV, ive also bought a few items from moates.net to custom tune my bronco like the quarterhorse(very good product)

Hey thank mrl390 for the bump. I dont have to have the Vin. but some states do inspection or emissions tests where the vin needs to match the PCM. so it is just a good thing to do but not necessary.
was going to add about rev limiters.... even on stock these need changing... thing is the factory limits RPM by cutting fuel... this is very dangerous, as it causes a lean condition that leads to detonation and possible damage to the engine. the PCM's have the ability to control RPM via spark timing. so if you want a limit of 6500 rpm you cut spark at 6500 or actually 6400-6450 as the engine will still spool up a bit when the cut off happens. you can still set a fuel cutoff at 6600 as a fail safe. this is how i set up your rev limits Matt. not the actual rpm though...
