Default cam?

I'm considering running a gt1 cam and pacesetter headers, I have a l26 manifold, no hv3, full catback exhaust... what else do I need for a cam install? Rockers? Rods? Lifters?

Double roller to b safe. Be sure yo have the double roller machines to fit true to the block. Machined oil pump cover and Springs.

Honestly IMO don't bother camming a N/A its not worth it. Just top swap it. You will make more power with a top swap than that can will make.

Doing the work yourself? Then go for a CAM. But then you will want to port heads and start getting into some major work.

I'm gonna have to agree, just save up for a turbo kit. Then when you do the turbo kit and take the car down a little in the engine, do some rockers and springs

x3 on not bothering with a cam. For the price of a cam and headers, you aren't far away from a top swap.

I appreciate the feedback, but i not doing a top swap. I figured that a cam would be the best way to go until my car drops from daily status to weekend warrior, then i can do the turbo. Again, thanks for the advice.

Do a cam if you plan on going turbo in the future, just make sure the cam can be used for NA and boost.

Or this.

Or just wait until you turbo, this way before you do the turbo install you can take everything apart and redo gaskets

I was actually lookin into gettin an s1x cam. But i keep hearing to stay away from cams if i can't do it myself n stic roc rollers instead. What's the power difference between an s1x cam and 1.9 yella terra rockers? Pros? Cons?

Probably 15-20 HP, cams are soooo much better. More power, faster times. I'd like an XP Hot cam one day.

Pros of the rockers are just the ease of install.

A lot of cams can drop your MPGs a good amount. I would wait if you are still daily'ing the car
