Default Aluminum valve covers 2001 Monte SS

I recently had the GM recall done which they replaced only the front valve cover. The one they removed was distorted from the heat. I looked at the rear one and its distorted as well, not as bad as the front was. I was considering aluminum covers to possibly avoid this problem in the future. Any thoughts. Pros or cons to them. Anyone else using them.

You may want to look into heat issues. I'm not aware of the valve covers distorting from heat.

But if you want cheap aluminum ones, pull the valve covers from a 3800 powered Camaro/Firebird, they are factory aluminum. The direct fit the FWD 3800. I have a set of these factory aluminum valve covers on my Monte.

X2, I've also never heard of heat causing noticeable distortion of the stock valve covers. Between the 4 fwd 3800s I've owned, I've put probably 300k+ miles on them and never had an issue with this. I have had them leak, but it was nothing a new set of gaskets couldn't resolve.
