is it possible to convert a 3.1 ls to a 3800ss? I herd it all bolts up besides the tranny, is it fact or fiction? What do i have to convert over?

 

basicly its a complete removal of everything in the engine bay. including the engine cradle. you need the cradle out of a 98-99 Z34 you need the engine, trany, wire harness, computer, exhaust....

its alot of work. your better off finding a 98-99 Z34 and just bold a Supercharger to it and swap the trany.

haha lmao thats funny, im thinking about pulling my system and going dual jet packs right out the back of the trunk...........................i think i might have to do some fabrication

 

hell just do like im doing, i took the powertrain the COMPLETE powertrain out of a FWD caddy with the northstar v8 and this summer im going to do some transplanting. now thats progress hahaha jet engine? hmm why not its only money

 

THAT will be one shoehorn project. I'm glad I won't be changing plug on that car.

It will be sweet when its done though.

i have seen one dont like that before.... even seen a grandprix with an LS1 FWD!

but for the price and amount of fabrication needed, its cheeper to build a complete 3800 SC engine and trany and swap it in. the money you save in fabricating parts for the V8 will go to mods...

a mod'd 3800 SC will easily out perform a Northstar motor.

 

Sure we can use my garage, I've got a full Craftsman Automechanic set and a ton of air tools. Come on over and I'll take a few days off. =D
