Default 81 swap

I'm thinking about getting a 1981 Monte Carlo. Now the thing is it only has the 229 4.4 L in it. Apparently this rates out to 110 horsepower. I wondering if this car if fast compared to the 1999 3.1 L. Also, I was wondering about common engine swaps for the 4.4 L. I was thinking of a 350 swap, but looking at Google for this seems to bring up mostly 400 swaps. I want something that will be easy to drop in with very minor adjustment and a lot of power. Any suggestions?

the 350 swap will be almost identical to the 400 as they are both small block chevys and externally the same physical size, just different bore and stroke. they will have virtually the same parts also, so if all you're finding is 400 builds, it would still be a good guideline you can follow.
