i have a 454 bb chevy mc .i put a 629 lift cam in this car keep in mind it is only 3200 lb car drag racing only. i have a 400 trans i have to keep it 1300 rpm to stay running and when i put it in gear it dies .i have a 3600 stall in this car ...any help with problem

 

Depending on the other specs of the cam, I could see needing a higher idle to keep it smoother and stable- sounds like its a pretty large cam. As far as it dieing when you put it in drive, does it stumble or anything- or just shuts off the second you put it in drive? I mean can you give it a little gas to get through it, or is it just an instant shut off?

Its gonna be hard for us to tell you anything easily though- I mean it could be a leaking gasket, damage to the engine, improperly tuned carb, electrical prob- there is a lot of stuff.

 

Assuming you two are not the same person; you really need to start a new thread to get help with your problem. It'll avoid clogging the OP's thread with other info; and it'll make searching easier in the future for others who may have the same question (especially if you include a proper descriptive title).

Have you checked your vacuum lines for any leaks?
