3400 Performance
So, today after racing my friend's Honda Civic Ex with 130k an exhaust system and a CAI which i helped him install both, beat me from a 20 roll. He was close to empty and I was 3/4 of the tank full lol. I won last time when my tank was under half-full from a 20 roll.
I need to make my performance better but I've heard so many ways of doing. New valves, new springs, new PCM tune, exhaust..etc, etc, etc. There's not alot you can do with the 3.4L. So, In your opinions. What would be my best mod or mods for some hp without a rebuild, swap or adding boost?..at least, not yet . I'm thinking of the tuned PCM from Milzy, putting duals on my car in the future, and getting a K&N air filter. Possibly getting the port and polished 3.4 manifolds from Milzy to. Along with a 65mm TB.

well you are right not to much you can do to these cars unless your doing custom, but there is a website(i cant remember what) that tells you all the basic things you can do to the engine>all i remember is i googled something about the GM 3400 not anything about monte carlo, if you can find it it tells you everything to do and how to do it, tells you the hp gains mpg gains and drops, everything. also if you do find it im sure alot of people would appreciate a link. sorry to hear about you loss, LOL thats a shame, was it at least a vtech??

idk. i have a 3.5 and there are differnet forums like 60degreev6 and milzy that have some aftermarket for them. ive heard of ppl geting 3-4oo hp N/A i think. now anyways these ppl drop thousands of dollars into a 3.4 and get some good numbers. now witht the amount of money they spent they could have swapped for hald the price and had simlar proformance.
anyways CAI and an exhaust are a great first step. idk if a tune would yeild the best gains with so few mods.
then you can do a top swap, headers, high flow cat, downpipe,u bend delete, cam, pushrods, rockers, springs, turbo, nitrous. it goes on and on.
the point is do some reserch and youll find a lot, but in my opinion maybe a little extra hp would be nice, but you cant turn a grocery getter into a housewife if you know what i mean.
