mine faild as well found out that i have one of the last models made of the 7th gen. it had recalls for the last few hundred of monte's and impalas for t-stat as well for the water pump and head gaskets. when i took it in for the thermostat might be sticking they told me here is a rental and this is what we are replacing for free. from the gaskets to the thermostat. i am like ok do i have to pay any thing they said no unless i wanted to get the insurance for the rental which i did. i tore that thing a new one. but i was supprised it was taken care of by the dealer for free. water pumphead gaskets as well as a thermostat. got me thinking they replaced every thing just for a thermostat sticking open? i am not complaning they cracked they cheery of a uper engine over hual
