what i want to know is if it can be done. they both have the same body style but i need to know if its just an out with one and in with the other, or if there is some other suff involved( i'm sure there is). i'm not one that knows a whole lot about engines.

lol..... The raw power in the monte? These newer
fifth and sixth gen monte's are wanna be hot rods. It will take more
than an engine swap from a 3.1 to a 3.8 to be impressive unless you
plan on spending some major bucks in major motor mods. Not to say that
it can not be done. GM really should restore the hot rod glory back to
the MC by going v8 and rear wheel drive down the road.

 

hell yea, i hate the front wheel drive cars that used to be rear wheel. in the coming years i plan to do some major modding to the engine so should i just stick with the 3.1?

 

I would.... Then when they come out with the new rear wheel drive
350 MC you can trade it in for peanuts on the dollar. lol....

 

lol, i think i'll stick with the monte for awhile, until i get a good job that pays enough to get the cool cars.

 

Thats the bad thing about having thurst for speed, not having money to play that is.

thats very disapointing that monte's are front wheel drive 6 bangers now.....same with impala's......what is the world coming to?
