2007 Monte Carlo SS

2006-2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS
The 2006 Monte Carlo (and the companion Impala sedan) was introduced at the 2005 Los Angeles Auto Show. The base engine was a 3.5 L V6 producing 210 hp (156 kW). The most notable news, though, was the SS model's use of the Generation IV small-block V8 - the first V8 since the 1988 model. The 5.3 L V8 produced 303 hp (226 kW), which raised some eyebrows considering it was being placed in a front wheel drive car. The interior for 2006 was mildly redesigned.
The Monte Carlo ceased production at Oshawa Car Assembly Plant #1 on June 19, 2007, following an announcement in February 2007 of its demise.[1] General Motors has released this statement:
On Tuesday, June 19, 2007, the last two 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo models rolled off the line at the Oshawa Assembly Plant. The last two models were identical "SS" models with Precision Red exterior paint; Silver Rally Stripes; and Ebony Nuance leather interior. The two models features the "SS" 5.3L V8 Engine with its "best in class" rated 303 hp (226 kW); 18" polished aluminum wheels; heated exterior mirrors; and AM/FM/CD and XM Radio"[2] The final Monte Carlo off the production line will be retained by GM for their Heritage Center collection. The second-to-last Monte off the line, the last "saleable" unit, was auctioned off on August 15, at Manheim's Statesville Auto Auction in Statesville, North Carolina. The winning bid went to Fred Simon, owner of Simon Chevrolet in Woonsocket, RI where it is on display on the dealership floor for the public to enjoy. This unit was at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway over the weekend of July 27-29 for the 2007 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. While there, it was signed by all the current Team Chevrolet drivers who were active in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series.

That was a typo, whoops.
Well i already have a 07 Monte on the way, and supercharging that will be to much work on my transmission, lowering its life-span, So i can either up my budget and turbocharge my car, or i can start adding mods and just get some more torque going.

I see there has been more posts since but this may help....
no big deal man, **** happens, go turbo and get the trans beefed up by TEP (http://tripleedgeperformance.com/) and you'll be set, ask Greg if you need your questions answered!

Description:
Bought The Beast in 2008 after returning from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. I saw that a Canadian company made a Turbo-Charger for it in July of 2009. I swore that one day I would get it. I finally got it in January 2010. Been happy ever since!
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
Turbonetics T-66 Turbo
Turbonetics Evolution Wastegate
Water/Methanol Injection
Electric Cut-Out
Shift Kit... etc.
Suspension Modifications:
Changed from an FE-4 suspension to the FE-2 set up. This is the same suspension that is in the Grand Prix GXP and the GTO. This allowed the down pipe to clear the sway bar and makes my car have a "tighter" feel.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Bone Stock.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Boost gauge mounted on the dash. Stock stereo with 2-15" Kicker CompVR Subwoofers added. Recently added a 2006 Impala front bumper because mine was damaged from an accident.
Future Modifications:
Wheels, paint and tint. Then I will be done and happy with her.

K&N Air Intake
Magnaflow performance exhaust - Cat-back
Already on my list.
And thanks for that, its a down the line upgrade, ill stick to my 3500 budget for now.
Is there a Supercharger for an 07 Monte SS? How much would it honestly kill my transmission, even just mainly using the car for getting around...and the fact to show off something nice and unique.

There is no supercharger kit that I'm aware of for the LS4 (5.3L V8) Monte SS. The only real thing you can do with it is add the turbocharger, or get nitrous. I prefer the former to the latter. Also, to be honest, your tranny might not hold up to the bone stock power of the LS4. I've heard of many Monte SS' that have had their trannys go, even though they didn't do any performance modifications to the engine.
If you want a reliable tranny, do what montecarlo 3831 said and go to tripleedgeperformance.com. He has a great reputation as a tranny builder. Then once you've built the trans, you're all set to get the turbo for your SS.

I think our friend is a bit ahead of himself here...
Just being realistic. When are you getting the car?
The turbo kit is expensive, with the additional cost of a built transmission as others have mentioned.
Adding a supercharger would be completely custom (read: stupid expensive)
Just saying you might want to take a step back and re-evaluate your plans. Many of us have seen new forum members want to jump in right from the start without understanding tech or cost. Spend a lot of time learning here and you'll avoid setting yourself up for disappointment.
