I want to use an AC/Delco oil filter.Book calls for an PF47.Somewhere on this forum they have used a longer version of the PF47. Does any one remember the part #?

 

You can use the filter for the 4.3 blazer. I know it's HP-2001 for K&N but I'm not sure for AC Delco.

That's interesting because that would be the same one for a '95 Z-34 which I just sold for this 2004 DE edition. Just so happens that I still have spares for.

 

I used to use the PF52 on the 3800 that was in the 98 GP GT my ex-wife and I used to have. I've stayed with the PF47 on the 2004 Monte.

My na uses a PF47, id just use wat it calls for

 

You can also use the PF47e, but that one seems to be made a little cheaper. I had it crush on me.

ACDelco Launches Redesigned OE Oil Filter

ACDelco has announced a redesigned Original Equipment (OE) oil filter that offers ACDelco's exclusive Duraguard® media in a smaller package.

The new OE filter applications PF46E, PF47E, PF52E and PF61E will be installed in applicable new GM models.

The new oil filter features:

• Increased efficiency and higher burst and collapse strength (Fig. 5, A)
• A new Nylon core that provides better flow characteristics and improved collapse strength
(Fig. 5, B)
• A full cover baseplate that allows easy installation in blind applications (Fig. 5, C)
• Duraguard media, ACDelco's trademarked synthetic cellulose-blended media that
efficiently filters particles as small as 10 microns -- 1/3 the width of a human hair -- to
ensure a clean supply of oil to engine components (Fig. 5, D)
• A combination relief and anti-drainback valve that prevents dry starts and assures oil flow
(where applicable) (Fig. 5, E)



In addition to the new OE design oil filter applications, the original filters (PF46, PF47, PF52 and PF61) continue to be available in a classic design.

The E version of these filters are known as E-core and have had some problems due to the fact that the filter media is not fully supported. Go to bobistheoilguy.com and look under the filter section and their are numerous posts about these filters. I personally don't use them anymore and use the classic version instead.
