I hear what sounds like popcorn popping from the motor when i come to a stop any idea what it is ...sinking alot of money into this car

 

only thing that comes to my mind is misfire maybe? hard to say since i'm not there to hear it in person. any check engine light on that you could scan? or any other details to go with it, horrible mpg's, sluggish acceleration, rpm's fluctuating while gas pedals held steady?

 

thx for the input james i got my mechanic coming by today ...hope its nothing to costly

 

popcorn sound is from a bad tensioner and my heater core going out .
