2002 SS water leak
The other day i noticed i had no water/coolant in my radiator when all sorts of red warnings popped up telling me about a high coolant temp. I pulled over and waited a bit. Added 1+ gallon of water and went home. When i got home popped the hood and heard a glug glug sound from the resivour tank. As i was peering into the talk i noticed a fair amount of water leaking from the engine in the space just under the top left of the silly plastic cover shield.
Any ideas on what this could be and how much it will cost to fix.

Could be the plastic elbows or water pump. Are you mechanically inclined at all? Do you do your own work on the car? Look by the pulleys on the left side of the engine and try to find the plastic elbow that could have failed that goes into the lower intake manifold. I'm just guessing but the elbows are a common failure
How many miles on the car? Can you take some pictures of the engine where you see the leakage?

If it is a coolant elbow they make an aluminum replacement. LINK https://montecarloforum.com/forum/en...-elbows-38422/

I HIGHLY doubt it would be a head gasket. How hot did the temp gauge get when you noticed it was leaking? In the red zone?
If it is one of the plastic elbows its a fairly easy job for someone that is familiar with the engine.

When it went hot the gauge was all the way over. I got to the side of the road and shut down the engine for 30 min while adding h20 to the radiator. Im gonna try and look at that elbow when i get home. Im not mechanicly safe lol but i can figure it out. I think it was the valvoline oil change place that messed things up. I noticed they had my engine hooked up to a garden hose looking thing at one point.

Yeah it was in the red for a few sec. As soon as it started beeping and flashing red warnings on the info screen i pulled over and let it cool. Ive had to drive it at least 200 miles since that happened. Valvoline was a day or two before symptoms started.
