1.95 Ratio Roller Rockers?
#7
Well, on other sites the cost of the different ratios is all $400.00, and I figure if I'm going to spend that much on any of the ratios why not get the best? This is really frustrating me, I don't really want to cam though because of the gas mileage and reliability decrease

I wouldn't worry about reliablilty at all. I've seen a Grand Prix that ran low-mid 11's in the 1/4 with over 400whp (with N2O) last over 260k miles. It did end up blowing the engine, but who cares? With that many miles, I'd say that's pretty good. Also, if you're worried about gas mileage, don't put an M90 on your Monte. That will make you lose more MPG then a cam. My cammed Monte gets 27mpg on the highway. It's about 1/2 MPG less then I would get before I installed the CSC.
However, if you don't want to go through all of the work that's required to install a cam, I can understand that. Rockers are WAY easier to install, but a cam will always make more hp then rockers. I actually raced a 5th gen Monte when I was NA with virtually the same setup that I had, except he had rockers and I had (and still have) the GT1 cam. When we lined up, I ran a 14.70 and he ran a 14.96 with my best ET being a 14.67 and his best ET a 14.83 that night.
Keep weighing your options. I wouldn't be too worried about not getting 1.95 rockers if you can't find them. You'll still get a gain from 1.9's.

Personally, if I was going to go rockers....then I would go 1.95 roller rockers from Yella Terra. Yes, they cost more but you will get more gains out of them vs 1.9 modded rockers. I have a friend with 1.95 Yella Terra rockers and his car is pretty nasty. I think you can do a search on the web for Yella Terra and find their website then you can contact them directly if no other site has them.

Ironically, I emailed them on Saturday and have not heard anything back as of yet

This is actually making me consider camming my car, but how do I know which one to choose? And should I replace my timing chain if I do choose to cam it?
