Hey everybody, started my car and it started shaking pretty bad, then the check engine light started flashing. according to the book it says a misfire condition has been detected. How bad is that? Is that expensive to fix typically? Ca has been running fine, never had any major issues with it

 

Get the code checked, if the light is flashing DO NOT drive the car.. A misfire could be from multiple things. Something as simple as a bad spark plug, injector, coil pack or something as bad as a cracked head which is leading to loss in pressure.

Get the code and post it and we will be able to help you a little more.

Until then, check to make sure that the injectors are good, coils are good, spark plugs are good, plug wires, etc..

 

Luckily i live close to a shop, so i can drive it there to get the code read. So what would you say are my best and worst case costs to get this repaired? very basic car repairs are the height of my auto knowledge unfortunately.
