ok... to start with you dont have a 3.4 the 3.4 refers to the 3.4L DOHC Your 2000 has the 3400 they both are 3.4L engines but yours is a pushrod engine vs the 3.4L Dual Over Head Cams.

but any how. there is a lot you can do with that engine. the air intake for the 3800 should fit close to your 3400. if you go to my website, you will find a lot of info on upgrades. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/473859/6

here is what i recomend:
I would do a RSM TB or when DPP re-opens buy theirs.
a good FWI either home made like me or thrasher or wizzard make good ones
Ubend delete if aplicable on your engine not sure 100% if needed for the 3400 but does on the 3800
Exhaust. a lot of people put flowmaster on their cars, but now are switching ot magnaflow's
High flow cat
DHP pcm computer chip. if you feel you are going to keep modding a lot, spend the extra $$$ and buy the power tuner and you can just keep updating your pcm at will.
Im not sure about cam options. some people swap rods and valve springs and better rockers.
also a LSD limited slip Diff will help get more power to the ground...as will the FFP dog bones.

Here are a few sites to get you started.

http://www.donkeypunchperformance.com/ good stuff but site is down until site is rebuilt

ShcWEET MAn thanks for all the good info but of all the things whitch do you recomend to do first? the only mod i doo have is exauhst i have dual flowmasters whitch i dont need but i like the look of duals alot more but so what do you recomend to get first and also witch one will i get the most power out of, but at the same time im not rich so something around the 500$ range but even thats a little steep with these gas prices. Pretty much my buddy has a four banger turbo passat and i want to beat him we have a little buddy thing were our cars have to be faser or better looking and i have the looks now i just want to beat him. the best thing for you right now is to aim at your intake system since you already have exhaust. and the duals will help you down the road.

I say if you are the least bit handy with tools, to go to my site and build that FWI (fender well intake) on your monte, the car's PCM will be in your factory air box so you will need to make or order a cover for it. This site sells pre-made trays for the pcm and also the motor-sports intake is very much like the wizard air. http://www.3800performance.com/Merch...tegory_Code=AI

but if i were to plan out a mod schedule for you, here is what it would be:
-FWI about $300 after shipping (this includes PCM tray and shipping and all parts for install) or if you follow my write up you can buy: (filter- from your local auto parts store for like $15,/ a 10' section of PVC for $20 / 3" to 3" adapter for like $5/ and a rubbermade or tupperware container and cut a hole for the cable to protect your PCM. $5-10) total $50 to do it all yourself!!
http://www.3800performance.com/Merch...roduct_Count=4
-Larger TB (65mm) http://60degreev6.com/store/index.ph...c2cbc4a325b748
-DHP or MMS PCM http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.m...y_Code=MCUNDER http://milzymotorsports.com/

Note if you do the 65mm TB I STRONGLY recomend you do the PCM at the same time. also email the company and tell them a list of the mods you will have when you install the PCM IE catback exhaust (you already have), FWI (should be your next mod), 62-65mm TB (should do when you get the PCM)

i know this sounds a bit complicated, but with mods, you have to balance each part or you wont get the most out of everything. if you have any questions feel free to email/PM me

if your doing nitrus. you really need a built engine to do it right or a lot of dyno/tuning time.
but for a stock engine, i would say do a 30 shot max and make sure it is a wet system. dry systems are BAD.
you could push a 55 wet shot, but if your not tuning it with someone who knows what they are doing you may end up damaging somthing. but 75 is BAD.

if your looking for a big boost in power, consider a super charger or turbo. iknow they are like 2k but the right nitrus kit would be atleast 600 plus all the tuning to get it right. most turbo or SC kits already have a PCM so there is almost no tuning.

if your looking for more power grab a few options here:
10-20 cam ($400)
5 Light weight push rods ($140)
5 rockers ()
2-5 New P&P Heads ($750)
2-5 new TB ($200)
2-5 Upper and lower intakes ($300)
5 cat delete ($50)
5-10 Underdrive pulley (less then 100)
5-10 full exhaust
5-10 DHP PCM ($99)

. that should give you a nice kick! and you would be pretty close to your 75 gain. if you did that entire list that would give you 80HP maybe more! it would total about 2,500 for that list, but it is safer then nos, does not need to be refilled and will give your more low end power that nos cant!

i figure if your looking at nos then your trying to save $$ or stay in a budget... prob about 500 ro 600 cause that is the normal cost of the basic nos kit. so here is what you can do for that:
15 Exhaust + cat delete 400-500
10 UD pulley 100

then in a few months do the:
5 Upper/lower intake 300
5 TB 200
10 DHP PCM 100

that will give you atleast 45 and with your existing air intake may bump you above +50 HP. that will put you where you want to be. IMO. Good luck! let me know ifyou got any questions.
