I did this on my old car. Black Vdub Golf:

1. Washed the car twice.
2. Mothers clay bar
3. Sprayed car down again and let it dry
4. Mothers Cleaner wax(3 light coats)
5. Mothers sealer compond (3 light coats)
6. Mothers Wax (3 light coats)
7. Then I used Nu Finish Polish 2 light coats

Then car was blacker then black after I was done. It was all done by hand and was pretty tired that night.

After cleaning off all the old wax, I'm now using Liquid Glass on my black SS. As someone mentioned, the instructions specifically state to make the application in back-and-forth movements - not circles. Also, they say that if streaking occurs on dark colors, rebuff the area with a damp cloth. This has worked well for me, and might work with the wax you're using as well.

Yeah waxing is definately hard work, especially when you do it that many times in a row. I find it pretty hard to find the time and motivation to wax my car, especially when it is really hot and humid out, but in the end it is definately worth it on a black car.

Buffing is the way to go.
Stop-off at a Body Shop and have someone there tell you about Buffing-out paint.

You need:
The Right Buffing Compound
The Right speed Buffer.
The Right kind of Buffing Pad.

When you have all your ducks in a row ... you put the Compound on the car ... fire-up the Buffer and restore the finish to like new!

But you need the right ingredients ... close don't get it.
