Default Trunk Light

In my 2005 Monte LS, is there supposed to be an interior trunk light? Either mine is burned out and I cannot seem to find it, or there was never one to begin with.

If I have one, where is it located and can I get to to it pretty easily?

If not, I'll pop some LEDs in there or something.

Any help would be rad. Thanks dudes.

I believe it's up by the latch. About 3/4" x 2" clear plastic. Mine has been removed but I'm pretty sure about that. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. You might not have the light convenience package, as a base LS might not have it.

Thanks for the response, Wayne. I always want to check it out, but it seems like when I remember, it's always dark outside. Same thing happens when I need to get in my trunk. So it's pretty inconvenient, I guess. I'll look into it.

Thanks dude.

Thanks for the response, man. I would go look now, but it's dark, and approximately -12 or more because of wind chill right now. So.. maybe when it gets warmer.

I parked really far away from my building. Don't want people dinging up my monte.

The bulb number should be a 194 if i remember correctly. You just unclip the plastic, but be VERY careful not to break the tabs. They can get fragile depending on age. I broke on on my last car, and it never looked right to me after that. Good thing it was in the trunk.

Virtually the same thing lol

OP I would replace it with an LED if you have to replace it, some bright white LEDs would be great and you could replace the interior lights while you're at it.

I think a trunk light is pretty much useless....IMO
Thats why they make flashlights....
