Tinting Tail lights
So, i'll be getting my check soon and I've already got a couple items in mind that I'm going to buy . I'm going to buy a headlight and foglight vinyl tint kit, but I need to get something similar for my tail lights. I'm thinking of VHT Nightshade. Ive heard that after a couple months or so the VHT tends to not looks so good and that you get better results and should go to a body/paint shop to get them tinted. I've been reading up on the grandprix forums that its difficult to do and can be easy to mess up. I also looked at Lamin-x and of course, they dont carry them for the monte's. What do you guys think of the VHT Nightshade?

i personally wouldn't tint headlights or taillights. Ive tinted my truck headlights before and i lost soooo much visual at night it was crazy. i didnt like and and wont ever do it again, but its everyone's preference. i wouldnt tint tailights though because its a hazard and hard to see you braking as a driver behind you. what might look cool though are the multi led taillights they sell. just my view on stuff

I would have to put a clear coat after I've done that to make it look shiny

Have someone spray some black tinted clear on them. A body shop can mix some black base coat into the clear and spray it on one coat at a time until its the shade you want. Will give you the same tinting effect but they will be shinier and way more durable. Plan on doing a real light tint job on my tail lights some time in the future.

Up close, yes its glossy and shinny
Far away and yes its still shinny
Nite shade @ night
Warning about nite shade tho it runs really easy and 2-3 cote does the job nicely.

Yeah niteshades is shiny but its not really the kind of shine that your tail lights had before and not the same shine as the body of your car. It does match nice to the trunk panel on the 5th gens since they like to dull, but they could definately be shinier.
