As a purist I think they look silly because after awhile they will fade and peel then you have to deal with that mess. But if it floats your boat go for it

If the vinyl is good quality and the owner takes care of them (which I'm sure he will) they should last for quite a while.. Put some cheap explorer decals on the sills of my explorer and never had any problems with fading or peeling and they were on for over a year.

Heres just a thought:

When I purchased my Monte from the Dealer...I asked the salesman if he knew anyone that does custom hand painted Graphix....Turns out most dealers have people who do on site stripeing and graphix..or do even simple Initialing......Maybe you would be better off going to a local dealer to find someone tocustom painted the caps....with possibly integrateing the 2 together on the wheel cap for a real "custom" look ?

That way it wouldnt look cheesey and adds something unique thats not a "Factory" option. maybe the same with the door sills, and then clear cote it ... So it willl stay against wear and tear and weather etc....

Hope this helps!

Would like to see pics of the end result....and what path u chose to resolve your ideas...

Good Luck!!

PS
They did mine with custom graphix on the front, hood, sides and rear deck lid and rear bumper for Just under $250.00

vinyls last a long time. unless your mess them up on purpose. but vinyls are so cheap, they are supposed to last 5 years but say it lasts 3 years and its all cracked. take it off and buy it again.

I had my graphix all hand painted...its been 12 yrs and still no defects!

Includeing harsh michigan winter driveing, salt slush, deep snow drifts,
hot summer days, sun beating down on it ...no fadeing....

Guess it beats out any "Vinyl" stick on stuff....But thats what has worked for me !

If you want it to last and to be maintenance free...
with NO do overs!

The graphix and letterng are on the hood , sides, rear deck lid,Bumper....

all the places you'd expext things to Fade and discolor..
Yet still looks like it did when i first had it done! 12 yrs ago.
