Default strobes?

does anyone have strobes in their headlights? i was thinking about custom mounting some in mine for the cruise in my local town (grandblanc/flint michigan) because a few other people have some strobes and i think they look pretty sweet.

but the thing is, i dont know what kind i should get to put in my headlights.
any suggestions??? thanks in advance

Strobes are super illegal. I think they are kind of neat, but I assume it is instant ticket if a cop sees you.

Streetglow/OPTX have good products for the price. I'd check them out. I know a kid who has them in the tail lights of his truck, but only uses them when showing off parked somewhere.

oh yea i know, ive gotten a ticket for a neon license plate frame. i meant by the cruise, everyone parks next to the main road in our town and we just chill there and talk and weve gotten permission for the cops to be there, so having them on there is legal, thats whati meant about whenever i would have them on.

Ah ok, well when you install them post pictures, I've always wondered what other light mods would look good on a monte.

At my local advance auto parts, they have all kinds of street glow stuff in an aisle, so check one near you.

Other members here have aftermarket lights on the montes and they all look pretty sweet. i think im gonna also get a red led underbody kit.

Yeah, I know some troops from the Flint post that would LOVE to write you for strobes. In MI, strobes are actually illegal even to just install. I'll double check with my buddy from the MSP Flint post. Like dopefish said, it is illegal for any kind of aftermarket lighting to be on your vehicle while in motion in MI...sitting like you will be doing you can have a friggen hooters neon sign on your car and it is fine. Give me a little while and let me check on the strobes though. I'm almost 100% positive they are illegal no matter what.

here is the deal on these things.

if you get the ones where you ahve to Drill the head light they will cause fogging in there UNLESS you get them to seal REAL GOOD!!

NOW.
they also have some out that replace your marker lights on your car and they have a seperate fill ament for the strob part so they can be used as eitehr or both.

OR
you can look and find the tube strobes that are all contained in the tubes they are a easy to install strobe and no cutting is requierd to put them in.
I beliv ei have a post here with the photos of mine etc... under the titel how to install strobes with out drilling a hole

Or somethign like this.
but the gest of this is pretty simpel but time consuming.
take out the head light.
slide the tube in and use a coat hanger with a guase ad ont he end (to prevent it from scratching the light and reflectors)
then you can slide the tube in there and fish the wires under the bottom of the reflector and pull the tube to the front of the light and wires under and back out of the light so the tube lays infront of the reflector and is visabel when they are flashign but not when off.

This is the easest way i have found and also can be taken out if you ever want to do so.

For the rears you can do them the same way but they have to go in to the bottom light on the actual tail light or the brake light.
And they only have two options here.
the drill kind can be put in to any of them
OR the tubes again. But they would have to be put in to the place where the light gose in just mod it a bit so the wires slide in to a slit under the bulb enought to make them fit and then seal with silicone to prever fogging etc..

as faras them being on. this is the same as the under glow.

IF YOU ARE IN A PARKING LOT,OR ON PRIVET PROPERTY AND IN A PLACE WHER THEY ARE NOT BEING USED TO TRY AND PULL ANYONE OVER ETC... THEN THEY CAN BE IN THE LIGHTS ON THE CAR LEGALLY. BUT THEY CAN NOT BE ON WHILE DRIVING ON A PUBLIC ROAD. AND THEY PREFER THAT YOU AHVE THEM DISABELD ALSO.

I PUT MY SWITCH UNDER MY HOOD SO I DIDNT HAVE A PROBLEM AT ALL AND WAS PULLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES IN GERMANY WITH THEM AND THEY ARE COMPLETLY ILLGEAL THERE.
BUT BECUSE I HAD THE SWITCH OUT SIDE OF MY REACH THEY DIDNT HAVE A ISSUE WITH THEM. SO KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN PLACEING THE SWITCH.

Good luck!!

Strobes have the same rules as neons in MI, as long as you're not in motion on a public road. Two things I will write for when I become an officer, front window tint and people using neons/strobes while in motion...lol.
