Default Steer Wheel measurements for cover

Hi there,
I am trying to get my dad a steering wheel cover for his 1970 Monte Carlo SS. I know the outside diameter is 15" but do not know what the grip circumference is.
Any one have the answer?
Thank you!

Can take a string and measure the outside of the steering wheel to get exact circumference. 15 inch diameter is 47.12388980384689 inches circumference

Grip circumference means how thick is the steering wheel.

Sorry OP, I don't have that answer, maybe you can look for an OEM part, and it might have the measurements?

I obviously misread the question. So to get the Grip circumference all you have to do is take a string and wrap it around the grip and measure the string.

Thanks both. The problem is it's supposed to be a surprise and the car is a couple hundred miles away from me. I spent a lot of time on the internet yesterday trying to find it but did not have any luck.

I had trouble getting the stitches tight and the string kept knotting but finally got it on. Also, it seemed a bit small and I had great difficulties getting it to look good. Looks good but in no way are the stitching tight like the images on line. It’s acceptable and is far better than the original steering wheel.
