How do I get the headrests out? They come up to their full extension, then that is it, ... so far I have not yanked on them, & am afraid to ...

*** Anyone looking for the tan Impala interior "SS" rests? They are on eBay right now: ----> Monte Carlo Impala SS headrests Gray very nice 2006-2012 Rare color | eBay <---- ***

Those are Grey and they are Jerry(77GP) headrests. He had different ones embroidered and is selling his old ones.

With the headrest in the full up position look at the black plastic collar on the top of the seat. There is a square button that you push in and hold, then pull the headrest straight up and out of the seat.

There's more to it than that. There is a little hole on one side, take a paper clip or small drill bit and insert it in the hole and push, that will release it and then off it comes. Good luck. on drivers seat its the pole closest to door and passenger its closest to console. Very small hole, look for it.

Is that how it is done on the '06/'07 model? It's been a few months since I replaced the seat belt guide on my '03 (same year as Zeke) but IIRC all I had to do was press the square button in and hold as I pulled the head rest out of the seat.

You're right, Jerry - You do need to insert a drill bit or paper clip into a hole. I couldn't remember for sure so I went out and looked at my head rests. There is indeed a hole. I guess I didn't have enough coffee in my system this morning when I was thinking about it...
