Thanks everyone for sharing your secrets!
Stump you need to have your step son work on my car ! lol
And shock, how do you go about wet sanding your monte? Ive always wanted to learn to do so...and do you also do the plastic parts as well or just metal? Do you use a rotary buffer or just compound then wipe with micro fiber towel to buff shine?

I use the rotary buffer for compound and polish (4-5 step). Then on my car i will put a pure polish on my hand then after i wipe that off i will use a random orbit to put a finish coat of wax on. I do this everyday as my job and it is still alot of work but well worth it

Tire shine
I heard a new one at work. A guy told me he would use his used motor oil to shine his tires. Tires are made with some oil. Never heard this anybody ever here? It might work. Going to try it on old tire.

Never wet sanded the car. IMO clay bar is a must at the very least every couple of years, better to do it once a year if not twice. Have used a product from Germany called Quix (???) to help remove some more stubborn surface contaminates. It does have a wet sanding stage but only in a small area not anything huge. Paint on the G8 is SUPER thin don't think I wanna try doing too abrasive work on it.
One tip I did pick up a few years ago is to use old dryer sheets a a bug gut remover. Didn't think it would work but for giggles & grins gave it a shot. Works surprisingly well!
