How many wet sand/buff their montes? Or just wax? Lets share insight on those show room quality shines ! Whats YOUR secret? ;]

Just wax for mine, If i wanna do it quick I'll use Meguiars Ultimate Wash Wax, For a good detail I wash it then Wax it with Meguiars Ultimate Liquid wax, works well for me!

I swear i just asked how you got that Batman so clean, lol, ima have to fix me up pics of mine...Sheesh.

I have never wet sanded my Monte and I don't think I would ever wet sand factory paint since it is so thin. However when I got my new Griot's garage 6" DA polisher I did a full on detail. So I compounded to get all of the paint defects out that I could and then I polished the paint and then I jeweled the paint to near perfection. The only things I couldn't get out was the rock chips in the front bumper and hood. Other then that I would say my paint came out to 95% perfect or so. Since then I have taken extra care to wash it and dry it very carefully. I have been using some meguiars gold class wash (i think that is what it's called) and it has been ok. But I will eventually be getting some wolfgang products. For wax I have been using liquid glass. I will have to post some pics up as well.

Those are good tips space. Also one thing that I learned a while back is that after you clay your car, get a plastic sandwich bag and put your hand inside like you would a glove, then wipe your hand over your car to find out if it needs to be clayed more. The plastic bag amplifies the little bumps and contamination. Without it your car may feel smooth and contamination free. But as soon as you put the bag on, you may be surprised.

Well..I really have no secrets betsides washing and waxing, while waxing I usually take my car down the side of the highway cause the exit is close, and dry off the wax that way. One thing I have seen done is after a oil change, ofcourse if you do it yourself, use some of the old oil on your tires for a sleek tire shine ! lol

Using mothers metal shine on your wheels after a wash is the best, better if you wax both car and rim, then fly on the highway, even if its dirt, youll have to wipe it off anyway, it just helps with the drying. One thing ive learned for carpet, is to use the foam spray of carpet cleaner with baking soda and then use a wet vacuum to suck up the dirt !

I use engine cleaner detailer on my wheel wells. mmmmmmmmmmmmm so clean!

GM paint isn't that thin. It has some of the hardest clear coats too which makes taking larger scratches out much harder. If you want it to look like a piece of glass wet sanding and compounding with a rotary buffer is almost a must.

mine has been wet sanded and compounded and polished. If you know what you are doing it is really simple.

My secret for the paint....
Is my stepson!:rotfl:

He has done wonders with my paint! He starts with some professional liquid clay bar.. with a buffer he does it one section at a time...(its a 3 stage process with different grit/finishes... Then he polishes the paint (made specifically for black paint) til its baby butt smoooooth and shines like a new model rolling off the showroom floor...
Then seals it with McGuire's gold Wax! Man O Man what a difference...:thumbsup:
