I decided that I will be "Murdering Out" my car this spring. For anyone who don't know what that means, it is when you make pretty much everything on the outside of the car black. My car is already black, and I have dark black tinted windows and 17" American Racing Casino rims that are black but have chrome lug nuts and a silver lip around the edge. I have a pair of tail light covers that have a really fine black honeycomb mesh underneath clear plastic, and they look sort of "smoked" from a distance. So my car already has a lot of black, but I want it to be almost totally murdered out. I want my tail lights, 3rd brake light, and reverse lights to be blacked out, and I want my rims and lug nuts to be solid black. The only things I want to not be black are my two red SS emblems, the red bowtie on the trunk, and my red "MONTE CARLO" windshield banner. So my question is, what is the best way to black outmy rims, tail lights, reverse lights and 3rd brake light? My friend told me I can just have my lights painted and clear-coated, but how well would the light shine through? Would I have to get brighter bulbs? As for the rims, would I just be able to have those painted all black? and would I have to have the tires taken off before they were painted or could they just be masked?

 

They make "overlays" for tail lights and headlights. Its almost like window tint but thicker and madeto hold up to outside usage. They let the light out but when the lights are off all you see is black. Unless there are custom ones made for your application I would suggest having a tint shop do it for you because done wrong it will be bubbly and ugly. I'd love to see pics of the murdering out thus far.

i really like the murdering out your car idea, i have the same rims but 18's and my car is black too and i plan on tinting it and murdering it more.

but for the tailights ive heard of this product called "vht" ive heard works wellto black out your tailights and you can still see through them.

Is it like a film that u put on like what you do to your windows, or is it like a spray like vht?
