Default The little things: New Bowtie nut for S/C shroud

[8D]Just added this GMPP large bowtie air cleaner nut to my s/c shroud. It took a little modification: plugging the 5/16-18 thread and tapping it out to a 6x1mm thread, then removing .007" from the bottom to make it sit straight when tight (added 65deg rotation). I like it a lot. I've been eyeing it for quite a while, and finally got it this week when I paid for my service work.
What do ya think? It's the little things!

Hi `Wayne,"It's all in the detail"I would expect nothing less, from ourAugust 2007 Monte of the Month Winner
Details a great designer make.
If there’s one thing I’velearned from my grandfather, it’s this simple philosophy: If you have time and talent to care for the smaller details, it almost always means you’ve already cared for the bigger details.
Wayne, you have made your Monte, your own.
I love `it....looks super
`The eye for detail 4-$ure

It IS a factory piece. GMPP #12341985 "nut". list price $11.75, but I got it for only $5.95.
That's why I like it, cause it's "factory".
I'm a tool & die moldmaker, plastics. Currently making a new T_y__a gas pedal. Details are EVERYTHING in this trade.
That's also why I bought this '02 Intimidator guage cluster, cause the speedo overlay is unique, but "factory".
