I use Meguiar's Gold Class leather conditioner. It works fine.

Some old car nuts I know swear by 'Leatherique' (clicky Home Page | Leatherique Restoration Products). It's more involved than most but is supposed to really soak into the leather and deep condition.

I used to use the Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Conditioner but when I ran out I asked for suggestions. Mothers & Meguiars were the most popular and I had tried both so decided to go with the Zaino. IMO it does a better job of conditioning the leather than either the Mothers or Meguiars. Once it's gone I'm going to try the Surf City Garage Voodoo Blend that Amy has recommended. If your leather has been neglected and dried out the Leatherique will do a good job of softening it, but a lot of buffing is required after application because it leaves a funky residue on the leather.

Thanks for letting me know about the residue that changes things, I use mothers wax, clay bar so I might try the Mothers instead
Thanks again
