I just looked around for some nice retro gauges and came to this:

If I'll get this I'll get a KPH instead MPH speedo custom made by classicinstruments.

and well, I found some classic hot rodding looking rims - Eagle Alloy 225. They come in 18x8 (fronts) and 18x10 (rear).

now finally back working on the monte carlo again. last week I received the frame back and started painting with POR15. I'll coat it with few coats of POR15 "Rust Preventive Paint" and finish it with POR15 "Chassis Coat Black".

frame's underside painted with POR15 rust preventive

what control arms are those? are you going with some fancy brake set up or just doing the 2nd gen fbody stuff? what tire do you plan on running on those wheels and what kind of spacing did you go with? sorry for all the questions just havent looked at this thread in a while

those are UMI performance arms. still haven't looked for a brake setup. what's the best bang for the buck? I just saw a few g-body builds with 12" LS1/C4/C5 brake kits. how's that?
still have no wheels yet but at the moment I'm looking to get the Eagle Alloy 225 in 18x8 (BS 4.5) and 18x10 (BS 5.0).

ahh. i dont currently have my monte, but when i did i was going to go the cheap route and run the s10 moog sorings to stiffen the ride and drop the nose an inch, second gen camaro caliper, rotors, and spindles with the tubular control arms from hotchkiss or global west. i dont know about the ls1 brake setups, but theyre an inch larger than the second gen and aluminum. i was going with the second gen stuff just cause at the time it was a huge leap from the 9" brakes the car had, and all the parts minus the control arms could be sourced from any parts store. on the rear i was going to run a dana 60 with explorer discs from dts. its kinda pricey at 2300, but the 35 spline axles, 9.75 ring gear, and disc brakes i figured was worth it since there ready to install once fluid is added. i figured it was a little bit of overkill, but guaranteed to take the 700+ftlbs of torque the car would make on spray.
