Interior Care?
Just a few quick Questions,
What do you use on the Dashboard to keep it clean and protect it from fading and cracking?
Leather interior, whats good to clean it and keep it nice and soft?
finally what to use on the carpet, black carpet gets dirty quick, i usually use just regular carpet cleaner found in the auto parts store, anything better?
Thanks,
Chuck

Hey Chuck,
To clean the dashI use Meguires Quick Interior Detailer andArmor All Low Gloss to protect everything. Have used it on my '98 Camaro since it was new and the interior is still in showroom condition. I like the low gloss because it give a little softer "glow" to the dash and doesn't look greasy at all.
For the leather I use Lexol cleaner and contioner. It's a thick spray liquid and does a great job keeping the leather looking new and soft. A little bit goes a long way and you have to work the productsome, but you get greatresults.I have perferated seats and have had a problem in the past with the creams clogging the holes. This stuff smells good too.
As for carpet, I use a steam cleaner once a year on it. I went toa home storeand got some really nice bath mats (the really nice ones that look like thick towels) that match the color of the carpet and keep them down all the time. You really don't notice them and this keeps the carpet looking brand new. I picked that one up from living in the mid-West and had a car whose carpet was terrible because of all the sand and salt they put down in the winter. Again, if you were to see the interior of my Camaro you'd be sold. I'll have to post a couple pics I guess. For spot treatments I just use Spot Shot.

I use son of a gun protectant, it leaves a good gloss to all of the interior materials if thats what your looking for. It holds up very well and you will still see the shine weeks after the clean. I have cloth not leather, so no answer there

For my leather I use ClearKote Leather/Rubber/Vinyl treatment
My carpet is black too, when needed, I use Meguiar's Detailer Series All Purpose Cleaner. I dilute it 10:1 for light duty cleaning or 4:1 for heavy duty use. I'll spray the area i'm cleaning and scrub it with a brush, vacuum it up afterwards and then let it air dry since I don't have an extractor.
