Definitely paint the area behind the grille. I painted mine flat black and it look like there is nothing behind the grille.

Since you have a black car, painting the grill is going to be easier for you. Mine gave me a little trouble at first Because of the two tone. I have the SLP grill. I kind of wish i had the TS grill only because when i painted the mesh silver, the block that the bowtie sits on is also silver and sticks out too much IMO. I didn't paint behind my grill, and you cant tell. I think the TS grill has a mesh thats more spread out/slightly bigger openings.

CHECK EBAY! I found mine for $80 on there

these grills confuse my cause when i look at my front end there are no removable pieces from what Ican tell. SO does the grill just cover upthe front instead of replace?

Yes, see the outer edge? You would need to take your knight's badge off so it sits flush, and then the outer edges come with 3M adhesive (the same stuff that holds on your badges) You peel if off and then you just pop it on.

That's why some people without black cars are talking about blacking out behind the grill, so it doesn't show that it's just a stick on.

I think it might be better categorized as a half (.5) gen then. Since it really is a different animal. New interior, new front panels, new drivetrain. That to me is quite the refresh to not be considered a new generation. So 6.5 gen it is? lol

Sorry to hi-jack.
