Default Engine Steam Cleaning

Just wondering,

Has anyone ever steam cleaned any of their late model Monte engine compartments?

I know that Cadillac strongly forbids engine steaming. Guys in my Cadillac forum have tried to steam clean their engines only to ruin delicate elevctronic components and pay hundreds of dollars to repair their cars.

The dealers do stupid things like Armor-All the engine compartments to make them look good and we all know that Armor-All is a grease magnet. Now my brand new Monte has an extremely filthy engine compartment only after 3k miles.

Thanks in Advance

Yeah I agree with Rich on the caddy thing. haha, there is this green stuff you can get...it's like... tire and engine cleaner, sort of like a goo be gone for pressure washers, if you have your own of course. If not, a lot of those do it yourself car washes have something similar, some sort of engine cleaner. they work well and it's pretty cheap. Give that a shot before you ruin something and regret it later.

Glad to report that I went down to the self-wash last night and hit the engine with a light spraying. Everything is working fine right now.

Thanks for that. Since I hate what dressings do to the engine compartment, I though that Sonus Trim & Motor Kote was interesting. I wonder if it is only available through mail order.
