Engine Bay Cleaning Tips?

hey where did you get the strut tower brace? and the other engine braces? Man your car looks like its brand new! i have a 96' monte it needs some work and the fire wall is rusted a bit but i got some anti rust stuff not sure what it was called... but before i go doing all of this i would like to take the 3.1 l out and put a 3.8 l in

I use a steam cleaner and Simple Green. But, I would never let my engine compartments get too dirty - even the daily driver.

Haha! If I'm up for it today I might give it a shot. Might just wait till after my fiance and I put my new downpipe in on Tuesday.

A lot of good tips to get it done. Only thing I would like to say is once you get it all clean just give it A Good wipe down every other wash or so to keep it sparkling. Also If you do live in a dirty or dusty area I would not use any type of shiny spray (tire shine,armor all)the dirt just clings to it.

Just noticed this, who was this specified to? Im guessing me since it was after my post, but the strut tower brace came stock on the car. I say if you want one, get one from a wrecked monte ss at a junkyard to see if it fits, you will have to drill holes.

Sorry, I know this isnt the thread for this but I could not resist asking this q. Regarding the strut brace, other than looking pretty cool, does it actually have a mechanical function; like does it improve handling? My guess is that it should but the car handles pretty well on its own already.

I just use a wet towel from after I dried the car off after a washing lol.
