Thanks Jason, do you mean the foam piece on the cover right? Yea I was concerned about that too but it still hasn't messed with mine
I actually like it with and without the cover. With, because it covers all of those lines and hoses and without because you can see my red valve cover and silver UIM lol

I'm working on a L26 UIM swap and a little extra detailing. I already removed the engine cover, she's not going back

Besides, you don't want a Series II cover on that Series III engine

 

Have you decide what you're doing with it, paint or polish? Powder coat?

It took a LONG time, but pretty much, I think I've cut a decision. Color of the UIM to make my new stainless bolts "pop" doesn't matter, they are hidden by a bunch of stuff (this was something I was considering). I like black, and powder coat black would give a nice shine, but in the end, then it looks like the plastic UIM.

I want to go, not polished, but a brushed, maybe swirl look (depends on how things pan). So more of a natural with a red painted fuel rail.

 

Looks great but i like it better without the cover too.

 

Oh, well I need to pay more attention. lol

I've got a series III engine cover lying around if you want it. Really good shape too. Got it off a 16k L26 when I top swapped and changed blocks.

 

Throw the engine cover away looks better with out it!!
