i was thinking bout it and one way you could save the retainers is to go and lift each tab on them induvidually with a pic tool then slide them up and return the tabs down and slide them back on.

Well it was a breeze! I did not have any issues. Even taking off the seat belt guide was not that hard. A pair of needle nose and a couple screw drivers to wiggle the "holders" off and I actually reused them to hold them on the new headrests. Now, I like the headrests of the Monte better because they have a more low profile look, but the once both Impala headrests are installed you would never know the difference. Well, what do you think??

I think I am very jealous, and kind of sorry I didn't buy these the first time around haha! They went for cheaper the first time they sold.

haha, anyway they look great, glad you got them and didn't have a problem with the seat belt guides either... at lease now I know it's not too hard to do, I'll have to keep my eye out for another set.

awesome!

I was wondering if they would look too big or not. But they look great installed.

Great buy!

looks great! is that the only color on the ss badge that come on the impala? if the ss badges were red color it would stand out more. white is kinda flat color on a dark car. well you can't complain at least the head rest does not look plain any more. good find!!

looks great. I like the look of the tight wrapped leather rather then the softer creased look of the previous generation like my 01

Thanks for the compliments guys. I appreciate it. I do wish the headrests themselves were a little smaller, like the OEM Monte ones, but I can deal. I am very happy how they look. I think I will keep the SS emblems inside the car the white and silver, but I do intend on blacking out all my exterior emblems.

Cully, if my memory serves me correctly, they sold for more the first time around. I could be wrong though, but I believe it was only $10 more or something.

Silverbullitt, I believe all of the Chevrolet cars only can with the white with silver outlined SS emblems during these model years. You could always get yours custom stitched, but I personally like the contrast of it on the ebony/black leather.

Thanks again!

P.S. Cully, I will keep my eyes open for you and if I find another set any where I will send you a PM.
