Default "Blacked out" Reverse Lights

Ok, so today I got really bored around noon, so i decided to do something to my car. I've always hated the looks of the white reverse lights on my black on black car, so I thought I would try and improve my looks by blacking them out.

I went to Autozone and O'Reileys, but nethier of them had any VHT Nightshade, so I decided to improvise a little and use some stuff I already had. This stuff is spray paint made by Pactra Paints, and its called "Window Tint". I just recently closed the Hobby Shop I owned, and had a few cans of this laying around. It is used fortinting the windowson R/C car bodies. You should be able to find it at any Local Hobby Shop.

Let me know what you think. I know my car is really dirty, but its cold outside. I forgot to get some pics with the reverse lights on, so if anyone wants any I'l post some up tomorrow.

Hi `Matt,
Get bored more often : ) We really like `it.
How much light does it reflect with the back up's tinted ?
You just made your Monte Carlo SS Intimidator better.
You deserve a break : )
Thanks for sharing/posting.

Well as you would guess, they are definately not as bright. But for reverse lights they are plenty bright. They are even still very visable in the day time. Maybe I'll go out and snap a pic of them on right now, to give ya an idea...

I actually kinda like my tail lights, and I don't think I'm gonna mess with them. IAM going to do somethin with my headlights though. Can't decide to go with the covers or the whole headlight... Oh well, that'll be something after X-mas.

I think they look GREAT! A good set of brighter bulbs, and you should be all set.
Going to have to put that on my to do list.

That looks great! I would do that to mine except I have a hard enough time seeing where I'm going when I'm backing up[:-]

Anyways, nice job!

I think the blacked out backup lights on DeboDaddy's Intimidator looks great.
Almost looks like it came from the factory like that. Or should have.
