Dale Jr #2081 resurrection thread!

i've called gm to see if they know how many came with/without a sunroof and they don't have any information on it (which I don't believe.)
Anyway, made progress in the interior.
Everything has been scuffed up and rust reformed.
And now just after hours of prep work, taping up paper barriers and using a good 2 giant rolls of painters tape.......taken just after 2 fresh coats.

because some bean counter looks at that info to see if they should offer it as an option . I talked to GM to see how many supercharged monte carlo SS where made in 2005. GM said they don't know because no break down for 2005 monte carlo ,code # 1ww27,1wx27,1wz27 , I still think some bean counter knows the break down for this...Because why make diff # 1ww27,1wx27,1wz27 ????

I find this fascinating, because last month I bought a 2003 Monte that is a Sandy flood car and I've gone through a lot of the same stuff.
The car has only 19000 miles on it, which is why I bought it. I've done pretty much all you've done, but a lot more. Haven't gotten to the engine yet, but it seems to be siezed. Cylinder 5 was still full of water. I'm soaking all of the cylinders with PB blaster right now, while I do the rest of the car.
I had no mold anywhere in the car, but I pulled the seats and carpet and cleaned them thoroughly. Had the same problems with the seat tracks, but I managed to get them out just as you did by lifting the foam. The power seat racks are all one assembly, and not designed to be repaired, but I did some cutting to get them apart and repaired them.
I pulled the entire interior out of the car, cleaned out rust & corrosion and rebuilt it.
I've replaced the climate control assembly, blower motor, vent servos, headlight switch, blower motor resistor assembly and body control module. I rebuilt the instrument panel with new motors and blue LEDs. I also rebuild all of the switched with blue LEDs and added them to the climate control assembly.
I had to replace the electric door lock motor in the drivers door and the trunk.
I also had to get new power mirrors.
The sunrrof & trip computer work, but the temperature sensor under the hood must be bad.
I'm hoping to salvage the engine and plan to pull the heads this weekend to see if I can free the pistons.
I've put in a touch screen Pioneer stereo and relocated the OEM stereo to the trunk, so I can still used the setup stuff and get the chimes.
My wife thinks I'm nuts, but I've restored cars before, and I like the 2000-2005 Monte body style.

You should go to the new member thread an say hi and introduce yourself and reprint this story of your rebuild. Many might not read it on this thread, nice to have another getting dirty member here on the forum. Red Nightmare and you might get along just fine...

Update: Jen (Red Nightmare) purchased a complete engine wiring harness off eBay for a really good price. We received it today and replaced the old one. Everything seems to work now as you can see in this video...
We are happy with the results but it still needs some work.

Mine is never getting sold, may sell jr 2091 (the one we are working on) Suspension is for jr 7(my own.) 2091 is going to be all stock except exhaust. Trying to keep everything as close to stock, similar date codes and oe parts.
