I was wondering the same thing. My '72 Vega wagon pulled down low 13/high 12 runs all day long with a stock 350 in street trim. After dropping the 383 in it low 12s were effortless. I'm by no means discounting the performance of the Monte, but there was definitely something wrong with that Vega...

Apparently the Vega driver had shot up a fat dose of smack before this pass in the staging lanes just a few minutes earlier. He was fading in and out of consciousness during the pass and kept forgetting to keep the gas pedal to the floor, which accounts for the erratic and slow time.

I'm drug free so I was able to complete my pass without incident.
