Shave trunk lock on 02 SS?
#2
Dunno about the 6th gens, but its easy as heck on a 5th gen. I just took that plastic trunk panel off- made a little blockoff for the hole with fiberglass, and then did some light weight body filler to bring it level with the panel- then painted the panel.

On mine I just ground down the lock and the used body filler, but I forgot to disconnect the lock for the latch so of course it cracked a bit. My advice is like bumpin said, but just take out the lock completely, put in fiberglass, bondo it, and sand. Best way though is to weld in a circle, and then bondo it.
You can see the outline where it settled in from the trunk slamming, but if its unconnected you have no worries. Also it looks way better over stock IMO, I hate keyholes.

I think that's what they're saying. This will give me more experience with body work so I'm psyched. And other than the panel being painted, seems like it's gonna be a cheap move. Will post pics when done with bodywork before paint. Oh and pics were a big help 3831 thanks!
