2004 Monte Carlo Water Pump Replacement
I need to replace the water pump and thermostat in my 2004 Monte Carlo LS with a 3.4L w/ Air.
What are good brands of water pumps, thermostats?
I have worked on most of my cars in the past. How difficult of a job is this?

Welcome to MCF Nick. The thermostat is easy and you can use pretty much any brand. I haven't shopped for a waterpump so I don't know their brands, but anything should be decent at an Autozone, NAPA, or Advanced Auto Parts.
For replacing the waterpump, you will want to have a good socket set and possibly extentions and swivels. Other than that it isn't tough, make sure to drain the coolant first.

yeah i have actually I have a great set of them wiht the gel pad sin theme for working with air tools, MAn they work great on the bike never have used them for anythign else.
But we had to wear gloves on base so thease were great Leather palms so they didnt tear real easy and the pads made the viberations not so bad .
as far as useing that for getting greesey so i have done it becuse it is hard for me to blow 45.00 on a pair of glove to put them on to work on a car and know tha ti hate even the thought of having gloves on becuse i cant feel the stuff im working on.
would be kind of like trying to hang your clothes on the line out side with a welding helment and oven mits on.
you would defenlty get it done but not in a way that owuld be the best or most efficant and also you would look really silly doign this
